Healthy Living Trainee

Are you passionate about sport, fitness, health and well-being? Do you want to turn your passion into a career? We have a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Active Scilly team. This development role will allow you to earn healthy living qualifications whilst working at our health and fitness facilities.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, supporting the Active Scilly Supervisor to deliver a broad and varied range of activities that promote healthy living. The role also involves administrative tasks for Active Scilly including contact with customers via Facebook, Twitter and the Council website as well as data collection and the production of posters and leaflets.

Our comprehensive package of training will enable our trainee to earn qualifications in:

  • Lifeguarding                                                   
  • Gym trainer                                                                                                    
  • First Aid
  • Exercise to music                              

 

Once the core qualifications have been completed, the post holder will progress to the role of Healthy Living Assistant and play an integral part in the delivery and development of the Active Scilly service.

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, be confident and competent swimmers, and committed to undertake all relevant theory and physical training required by the role.
