Tina Hutchins - AAT

"After starting work in the accountancy department of the Council I was offered the opportunity to study for a professional accounting qualification. This was set up for me by Lifelong Learning and my line manager.

"This meant two years of quite intensive study, with regular exams. Thanks to the Lifelong Learning team I was able to sit each exam here on the Islands rather than having to ship out to the mainland which was so much less stressful.

"After year one I was awarded a Level 3 certificate and after year two, Level 4. I am now an MAAT – a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians! It has been hard work but I am now able to apply much of what I learnt during my studies to my work for the Council.

"Support from the Lifelong Learning team and my work colleagues has been invaluable. I couldn’t have done it without you."
