Interested in building your own home on Scilly? Make sure you're on the self-build register

Under the Self-build and Custom Housebuilding Act 2015, the Council of the Isles of Scilly is required to keep a register of individuals who are seeking to acquire land to build houses that they will occupy as homes.

The register is intended to give councils information about demand for this type of housing so that they can plan accordingly. It is particularly important right now on the Isles of Scilly as any information we are given about the demand for self-build will inform the new local plan which is currently being produced.

If you are interested in building a house that you wish to occupy on the Isles of Scilly, please fill out the form Self-Build webpage and return it to the Local Planning Authority at planning@scilly.gov.uk.  Alternatively you can find out more at the Local Plan Review pages.
