Winter Wellbeing Day: 14 January

Isles of Scilly Winter Wellbeing Day
Thursday 14 January 2016
9:45am to 3:30pm
Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary’s

The Council of the Isles of Scilly is working in partnership with Cornwall Rural Community Charity and other local partners to help promote ways of keeping warm, well and safe this winter.

Organisations such as Age UK, Healthwatch, Adult Social Care, the local GP surgery and Citizens Advice will be on hand to offer:

  • Advice on energy use, reducing bills, dealing with debts and emergency help. You can bring along your bills on the day or we can arrange a home visit to provide more detailed support and advice. To book in advance contact Joel Williams at jwilliams@scilly.gov.uk or call 01720 424480.
  • Information and signposting for emotional wellbeing, caring for someone and grants that you may be eligible for.
  • A drop-in for anyone who has issues with their laptop, phone, tablet, using the internet, staying safe online, using social media and Skype.
  • Free NHS health checks and information about how to keep fit and healthy.

Please note, staff will be available the day before the event. If you run a group and would like a general information session or if you are an individual and think you’d benefit from a visit to your home for support on IT, energy advice or switching supplier, please contact Joel Williams (details above).

A range of information leaflets, freebies and copies of the Winter Wellbeing Guide will be available on the day, so please come along and see what support is available.
