More about the Corporate Plan and why we are consulting

Councillors are currently drafting a Corporate Plan for the period 2022-2026 and this year, for the first time, we would like to get your views on our proposed objectives. Once complete, this document will replace our current corporate plan (2019-2022).

The Corporate Plan sets out our aspirations for the Council and the principles we will work to over the next four years. The plan contains objectives which we believe will address points of concern within the community and enable the islands to flourish. These objectives are not intended to capture everything the council does. Instead they are projects or goals which are carried out alongside the day-to-day activities of the local authority.

We would like to get your views on our 34 proposed objectives, which have been split into the following 7 themes:

  • Housing
  • Climate change
  • Public realm and highways
  • Waste and recycling
  • Community wellbeing and fairness
  • Lifeline transport
  • Our Council

Your responses will indicate how much support there is for the objectives and bring to our attention any further suggestions you may have. We will show how we’ve used your feedback to inform the final plan when it is made available to the public in April 2022.
