The Council of the Isles of Scilly is the Highway Authority on St Mary's (the only part of the Isles of Scilly with highways) and is responsible for the maintenance of many of the public roads. The current role of a Highway Authority is defined in the Highways Act 1980.
The following pages give more information on some of our duties as the Highway Authority, such as street lighting and road maintenance. We also have applications forms available to download, which you will need if you would like to carry out any work affecting the highway or access to the highway.
