Casual: Children's Inclusion Worker

The Council of the Isles of Scilly are looking to recruit casual Children’s Inclusion Workers to provide support when required, on a one to one or group basis, for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in accessing mainstream services such as clubs, activities, and holiday club provision, both for Children’s Services and private/voluntary sector; the post holders will support youth participation and engagement in the development of these services.

The post also involves working together with Children’s Services and other professionals to determine the level of support required, keeping brief records of sessions held and providing brief reports, where required. The post holders must have the ability to communicate positively with children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and be willing to undertake further training in this area if necessary.

They must be flexible, creative and able to engage, stimulate, inspire and support children and young people during sessions. The successful candidates should have experience of working with children and young people with a range of abilities and have acquired the knowledge and understanding of best practice, and rules and regulations associated with working safely with children/young people.
