Customer Services Assistant

We are looking for a friendly and organised Customer Services Assistant to join our reception team.

As the first point of contact for visitors, you will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

We require somebody who can work 25 hours per week, but this job may be suitable as a job share.

The Customer Hub team is part of the wider Learning, Leisure and Customer Services team which consists of Active Scilly, Learn Scilly and the library.

This role is based at the Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre and St Mary’s Library. Shifts are mainly between the hours of 8.45am and 5.15pm and will require working one evening shift until 8.15pm and one in three (occasionally one in two to cover staff absence) Saturday mornings 9.15am to 12.45pm.

The key areas relating to this post are:

  • to act as the first point of contact and sign posting service for visitors and customers of the Council of the Isles of Scilly
  • to be responsible for taking all payments
  • receptionist and administrator for the library, learning and leisure services

The role will involve liaising with colleagues and members of the public over the phone, email and face-to-face, therefore excellent customer service, communication and administration skills are essential.
