CIEH Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid

Course description: 

This course teaches in depth theoretical and practical skills necessary to deal with first aid emergencies in children and babies. 

Candidates are taught about personal safety, the best methods to assess an incident, how to record and report on an incident (as required by OFSTED), what to keep in your first aid kit and the legislation associated to first aid and first aiders.

It also provides the opportunity to practise the skills needed to administer first aid to an infant or child who is:

  • not breathing
  • bleeding from a wound and in shock
  • unconscious
  • choking
  • requires a support sling
  • requires an elevation sling
  • has a suspected spinal injury

OFSTED recognised qualification valid for 3 years from date of training.

Important Information: Candidates are required to be able to carry out all practical procedures. This requires the ability to work from the floor in a kneeling position

Continuous assessment of practical skills, 2 multiple-choice question papers consisting of 15 questions each.
