The Porthmellon Enterprise Centre (PEC) is a state-of-the-art building which provides high quality, flexible managed workspace with full disabled access.
The PEC is a low carbon building and uses significantly less energy than a conventional office block. It has thermal voltaic, solar voltaic and air source heat pumps to provide a low cost constant environment.
The PEC also hosts a GO-EV car share station (carshare@ioscv.co.uk for more details). Under the GO-EV project additional solar was added to the PEC roof in 2021 which supplies renewable energy to the electric vehicle charge point here and the stations hosted at Moorwell Waste & Recycling Centre.
Investment has been provided by the ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) and the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
The PEC Meeting Room
The Meeting Room (pictured below) provides the perfect spot for face to face or remote meetings. Access to a Microsoft Surface interface allows for remote meetings to be set up with ease with its internal webcam and speakers. Also available is an IP conference phone, flip chart and use of the building’s galley kitchen.
