Know your Sewing Machine

Course description: 

A one day course to bring your sewing machine and learn how to use it to get the best out of it. The course will include using  and maintaining your machine, with some practical work.

There will be time for questions and answers during and after each topic.

This will be a great preparation for a longer course, or just enable you to gain confidence to use your sewing machine more at home.

 

Learning Objectives: 

To learn the basics of sewing machine care and maintenance

To troubleshoot problems

To learn about different types of needles, fabrics, and how they affect machine performance

To learn what various basic accessories are used for, and how to use them

To learn the uses of different stitches as shown on your own machine.

Equipment to bring: 
Bring your own sewing machine and any accessories and needles you have. Machines will be available in the session but you will benefit more by using your own machine on this course.
Lunch/refreshments: 
Half an hour break for lunch (not provided, please bring your own lunch) 1pm to 1.30 pm
Assessment: 
Your tutor will explain your learning objectives and monitor your progress throughout the course.
Homework: 
No homework
