On Wednesday 23rd July, Maritech Engineering & Marine Services will commence essential works to install a sub-sea superfast broadband cable at Porthcressa as part of the Superfast Cornwall programme. Works are estimated to be completed within three days, weather permitting, and no work will take place after 8.30pm.
Two excavators will pull a cable that will be floated ashore and buried two metres below ground level on the beach.
The entire beach will be cordoned off on the evening of Tuesday 22nd July and all day on Wednesday 23rd July. Areas restricted on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th July will be signposted accordingly. In addition, a temporary site office will be situated in the car park at the rear of the Town Hall so parking will be limited for the duration of the works.
The site office and plant will be removed by the afternoon of Saturday 26th July.
We will inform the public of any changes to the schedule and thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
