DEFRA are hosting public meetings on proposed new water legislation affecting the Isles of Scilly. The details from DEFRA are as follows:
"Residents and others with an interest are invited to attend one of the public meetings being held to support DEFRA's consultation on new water legislation on the Isles of Scilly. Meetings will be held From Monday January 19th through to Thursday 22nd January.
Officials from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Drinking Water Inspectorate and the Environment Agency will attend alongside representatives from the Council of the Isles of Scilly to answer questions and hear concerns that you may have regarding the new legislation. This will help to ensure potential impacts are fully understood.
Meetings will take the form of short presentations, with time for questions at the end. Events will take place as the following times:
Monday 19th January
5:30pm to 7:30pm, Council Chamber (Lyonesse), Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary’s
Tuesday 20th January
11:00am - 1:30pm St Agnes (Island Hall)
2:30pm – 4:30pm Bryher (Community Centre)
5:30pm – 8:00pm Tresco (Community Centre)
Wednesday 21st January
2:30pm – 5:00pm St Martin’s (Reading room)
6:30pm – 8:00pm Council Chamber (Lyonesse), Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary’s
Thursday 22nd January
1:30pm – 3:30pm Council Chamber (Lyonesse), Wesleyan Chapel, St Mary’s"
