Water & Sewerage Forum – Expressions of Interest Invited
Between November 2014 and February 2015 Defra consulted the Isles of Scilly community and stakeholders about the proposals to apply national water and sewerage legislation to the Isles of Scilly.
A ‘working group’ was formed to ensure that key stakeholders were able to contribute to the process. This includes representatives from Defra, Environment Agency, Drinking Water Inspectorate, OFWAT, Council of the Isles of Scilly, Duchy of Cornwall and Tresco Estate.
It was also agreed that a ‘Water and Sewerage Forum’ (comprising of resident and business representatives with a particular interest in the process and possible outcomes) would be formed to provide a sounding board for the working group as plans developed. The Council has offered to be the local host for the Forum on behalf of Defra and the working group.
It is anticipated that the first Forum will be held on Wednesday, 7th October from 7pm to 8.30pm.
The working group are keen to ensure that there is a broad range of representation from across all the islands. We are therefore inviting anyone who is interested in joining the Forum to submit an Expression of Interest. Please complete an Expression of Interest form and submit it no later than Monday, 28th September.
The Expression of Interest form and Terms of Reference for the Water & Sewerage Forum are available from the One Stop Shop and for download below. They can also be requested by calling (01720) 424000 or by emailing hpearce@scilly.gov.uk
