As you may know the old secondary school at Carn Thomas is due to be demolished.
The Wring Group who are carrying out the demolition are holding an open day at the site so that members of the community can come and take away any of the furniture, books and other items from the building. The time is as follows:
Saturday 15 October, 12 noon to 5pm
Please use the entrance by the main doors behind the hand rails
The contractors will have cleared access routes and put any items that might be of interest in suitable areas mainly around the sports hall. Any members of the public that wish to have a further look around the school will be escorted by a member of the Wring Group team but only in the areas they deem safe.
Picking up any larger items can be organised on the day with the Wring Group at a convenient time to suit all.
Voluntary donations can be made if items are taken and these will go to local charities: the RNLI, Air Ambulance and the Wildlife Trust (Higher Moors Appeal).
Parking will be around the school but not on the main road unless a Wring Group representative is present to advise.
