To celebrate the fantastic work between the Council and the community in reopening the Garrison Play Park we are having a pirate party on Friday 23 August 2019 between 10-11am.
Come along for a treasure hunt, flag designing, songs and parachute games. All ages are welcome.
The refurbishment and repair of this play park is the result of a fantastic collaboration between the Council’s Children and Family Services Team and a community funding campaign led by Eugene Hogan. The community has raised £3.5k towards the £15k cost of repairs and refurbishment.
Councillor Joel Williams, Lead Member for Children’s Services, commented: ‘play is an essential aspect of a child’s development and we are delighted to see this much loved facility available once more despite significant funding barriers. I would like to thank the great team who helped with this project and specifically Eugene Hogan, Clinton Perry and Tamasin Bridge. We have placed fundraising boxes at the entrance to support future sustainability and we ask every member of the community to care for this playground. In the meantime – swing, slide and be a pirate!’
