National Carers Week events – 8 to 14 June 2026

The theme of this year’s National Carers Week, which runs from 8 to 14 June 2026, is ‘Building Carer Friendly Communities.’ In celebration of this theme, our Adult Social Care team will be hosting a series of drop-in events across the islands to recognise the support that unpaid carers provide to our community and give them a chance to join together for a chat over coffee and cake. The details of these events can be found below:

Tresco - Tuesday 9 June

Flying Boat Club Studio from 12pm to 1.30pm.

St Martin’s - Tuesday 9 June

Reading Room from 12pm to 2pm.

St Agnes - Wednesday 10 June

Coastguards Café from 12pm to 1.30pm.

St Mary’s - Thursday 11 June

Wheelhouse Guesthouse from 11am to 12pm.

Bryher

We are also aiming to run a drop-in event on Bryher, but details for this event have yet to be confirmed and will be advertised at a later date.

If you know someone who helps their family or fellow community members in their own time, please encourage them to come along to share experiences with other unpaid carers and hear from our Adult Social Care team about sources of advice and support.
