The Council of the Isles of Scilly is committed to helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint and has secured funding to support the installation of renewable energy and energy reduction measures. The project is called the Business Energy Efficiency Scheme (BEES).
This project complements the business support provided by Hitachi’s Smart Energy Islands project. It offers part-funding for a range of energy efficiency measures identified in the energy assessments carried out by consultants Anthesis.
What can BEES fund?
The funding can support the costs of purchasing, delivering and installing:
- Building Energy Management Systems
- Solar Photovoltaic and Solar Thermal installations
- Air, ground and water source heat pumps
- Energy and water saving measures
Financial support is available for local businesses and starts from a minimum of £1,667 project spend. Support will require some match funding by applicants, the proportion of which will depend on your project plans and programme requirements.
Which businesses are eligible?
To qualify, your business must:
- Be situated in and trading from the Isles of Scilly
- Employ fewer than 250 employees
How to apply?
At this stage we are accepting expressions of interest from businesses that wish to be considered for the scheme. You can download an Expression of Interest form on this page.
If you have any questions about the scheme, please don’t hesitate to contact us at BEES@scilly.gov.uk.
