The Council of the Isles of Scilly is responsible for the management of the public realm on St Mary's, including parks and open spaces, beaches, boat parks and the local cemetery.

Parks and Open Spaces
The Council is responsible for maintaining the Park in centre of Hugh Town, Holgates Green overlooking St. Mary's Harbour, the Garrison field and Porthcressa promenade and play park.

Beaches
The Council of the Isles of Scilly is responsible for Porthcressa Beach and Little Porth in Hugh Town, St Mary's.
If you have any concerns about either of these beaches, please don't hesitate to contact us on 0300 1234 105 or enquiries@scilly.gov.uk. All other beaches are the responsibility of either The Duchy of Cornwall or The Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust. The Isles of Scilly AONB organise community beach cleans which the Council supports by offering free collection and disposal of all rubbish that is gathered.
Rechabite Boat Park
The Council manages the Rechabite Boat Park on Holgates Green for the storage of small pleasure craft. For further information, please contact environment@scilly.gov.uk

Memorial Plaques
The seating area along Porthcressa has provided a wonderful spot for memorial plaques. The Council of the Isles of Scilly do not provide the memorial plaques only the maintenance service required. If you would like to have a plaque erected here please complete our Memorial Plaques for Porthcressa Beach form and send with your plaque to:

Plaque Specification
The outside of the plaque must measure 14cm (w) by 10cm (h).
The material must be stainless steel.
The plaque must not contain any profanity or offensive subject matter.
