Exclusive burial rights for a plot at the Council's cemetery may be applied for by contacting the Environment Services department. Please also contact the team for up-to-date fees for burials and for information about exclusive rights.

Please note that, under the Old Town cemetery regulations, the maintenance of any gravestones or other memorials is the responsibility of the owner. This includes removing faded or decayed flowers, wreathes and temporary memorials. Please also note that planting on grave spaces is not allowed without approval from the Council. Glass pots, jars and similar items are also not permitted, as they pose a hazard to maintenance workers using grass cutting equipment. A full list of the regulations is available in the file list on the right-hand side of this page.
