Business Support Officer - Children and Families Service

Would you like to be part of delivering the future together for our Island’s children by joining our Strengthening Families Business Service?

We are building something great for our children and families and know that to do this well we need brilliant and dedicated business support staff to support the smart and efficient running of the whole service. Take a little look at what Ofsted have said about us recently in our published monitoring visit letter on 13th March 25; you can find the report here: 50271497

As part of this we are looking for Business Support Officers to support the People and Communities team with the delivery of an integrated, evidence-based wellbeing offer that promotes the welfare of the community and protects the vulnerable from harm

The role holder will work as part of a growing team delivering positive outcomes to the lives of our children and families and the local community on the islands and will undertake a range of duties, including:

  • To set up, attend and minute different types of meetings at various locations across Scilly
  • Taking initial calls to the service and input to the children’s electronic recording system
  • Working closely with the performance team to ensure accurate data recording.
  • Effectively logging, monitoring and tracking queries to enable completion of deadlines to be met on correspondence, tasks and preparation for forthcoming meetings.
  • Ensuring that the team has efficient filing systems which are easily accessed. The post holder will support the team during inspections by Ofsted.

The post holder will have a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection is imperative.

The successful candidate will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and be able to prioritise and manage their own workload. The ideal candidate must be dedicated, proactive and able to adapt well to change.

You will be highly organised and efficient with a keen eye for detail. The role will involve liaising with colleagues and members of the public over the phone, email and face-to-face, therefore excellent communication skills are a must.
