Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Management Plan Consultation 2021-2025

The Isles of Scilly Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a designation which covers the whole of the Isles of Scilly. The Council's statutory duty is to produce and review a management plan for the AONB to demonstrate how the AONB can be protected and enhanced.

The consultation on the draft AONB Management Plan 2021-2025 is now open. Please read the consultation draft and provide your views by completing the survey by 5pm on Friday, 5 March 2021.

The Isles of Scilly’s natural environment is foundational to our community's health, prosperity, identity and heritage. The Islands are globally renowned for their beautiful land and seascapes, along with their unique history. However, our nature is highly fragile, and not as healthy as it might seem. The current national rate of species decline is unprecedented, with 41% of species having declined in the UK since 1970. Sadly, these trends are reflected on the islands.

Responses to the survey will help shape the future of the islands. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to have your say on these extremely important issues.
