Armed Forces Day Committee looking for new recruits

The Armed Forces Day Committee are looking for new recruits to ensure that this year's event takes place on the Isles of Scilly to raise awareness and support for the Armed Forces community and highlight the outstanding contribution it makes to this country.

Smudge Smith and Jenny Bagnall have both stood down this year after serving as Chairman and Secretary respectively, and the committee would like four volunteers to join them in organising the 2015 event on St Mary's on 27 June. It is hoped that a good deal of money can be raised this year for the "Walking With The Wounded" charity, which specialises in getting wounded service personnel into the workplace by retraining and offering support.

No specific skills are required, but potential volunteers must be willing to give up some time for evening meetings leading up to Armed Forces Day, and to help on the day itself.

So, if you are keen to help and have plenty of enthusiasm, please contact Dave Hawkins (stand-in Chairman) on 01720 422132 by 26 March 2015.
