Armistice Day 2022

An Act of Remembrance service to mark Armistice Day took place this morning at the War Memorial in Old Town Churchyard.

The service, led by Methodist Minister, Reverend Carole Holmes, was preceded by a short procession and included a two-minute silence to remember all those who have given their lives in service to their country since 1914. Representatives from a range of organisations including the Council, school, emergency services, military and voluntary groups were in attendance, as well as members of the wider community.

A Service of Remembrance will also take place at 10.45am on Sunday, 13 November at St Mary's Methodist Chapel. This service will be followed by wreath laying at the Memorial in The Park in Hugh Town.
