Carers Rights Day 2016 is on Friday 25 November, and this year's theme is: Missing out? Know your rights as a carer.
The Wheelhouse guesthouse, St Mary’s
Friday 25 November, 10am to 12 noon
Coffee and cake!
We're holding a coffee morning to help carers in our community know their rights and find out how to get the help and support they are entitled to, including:
- Making carers aware of their rights
- Letting carers know where to get help and support
- Raising awareness of the needs of carers
Peter Harrison of McClure Solicitors will be giving a talk on wills, will reviews and power of attorney and why we need them.
The council's care manager, Jeanette Persich, and Age UK's, Elaine Leijser, will also be on hand to support the event and answer your questions.
Carers Rights Day is an initiatve from Carers UK, a charity offering support and advice to carers across the country. You can find out more about Carers UK at their website: https://www.carersuk.org/
