Children’s Laureate, Joseph Coelho to visit St Mary’s Library

We’re excited to announce that Joseph Coelho, the Waterstones Children’s Laureate 2022 - 2024, will be visiting St Mary’s Library between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday, 13 July 2023, as part of his ‘Library Marathon’ tour.

Instead of our usual 'Read Aloud' session, the award-winning performance poet, playwright, and children’s author will be reading from a selection of his titles and poems and answering questions from the public.

The ‘Library Marathon’ tour includes every local authority library in the UK – more than 200 libraries in total – and will culminate in a special, public event at the British Library to mark National Libraries Week 2023. The aim of the tour is to champion local libraries and the ways in which they inspire a love of reading in young people and play a vital role within the community.
