Did you miss the last Finance Audit & Scrutiny Committee meeting? Here are the key points from the meeting held on 26 April 2016.
- A review of Standing Orders and Financial Regulations is to be commenced as soon as possible, pending some further details over financing of the review with the Local Government Association and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
- A recommendation to approve a Finance Governance Framework was deferred to the next Finance, Audit and Scrutiny.
- The Medium Term Capital Programme was recommended to Council for approval by 6 votes to 2. This programme totals almost £17 million over a 5 year period and is designed to help the authority spend more efficiently and deliver the objectives of the corporate plan for the benefit of the islands' community and businesses.
- The internal audit findings of Cornwall Council were presented.
- Members were presented with the External Audit plan of Grant Thornton; accounting policies and responses to the audit were approved.
