Consultation on our updated Planning Enforcement Plan 2025

At a meeting of Full Council on 18 April 2024, Councillors resolved to consult the public on an updated Planning Enforcement Plan. This consultation will run for 6 weeks from today (Friday 27 June 2025) until 5pm on Friday 8 August 2025.

As set out in the Royal Town Planning Institute Planning Enforcement Handbook, parliament has given Local Planning Authorities the primary responsibility for taking whatever enforcement action they consider necessary in the public interest in their area. The updates to the consultation draft of our Planning Enforcement Plan 2025 take into account best practice for dealing with planning enforcement matters and we would now like to consider your views on the updated document.
