Our Strengthening Families team has pulled together a list of activities being run on St Mary’s, by the Council and others, for families over the Easter holidays, from Monday 7 to Thursday 17 April 2025.
You can find a list of these activities and information including who is running the session, the time, the cost, the venue and whether supervision and booking is required in the two tables below.
How to book your place
If booking is advised or required for the session you’re interested in, please contact the relevant service using the information set out at the bottom of this page to secure your place and make any payments required.
Access funding information
Anyone living on an off-island who has booked a place on any activity run by the Council over the Easter holidays can contact Children’s Services to arrange for a free ticket to be provided for one adult and their children to travel between their home island and St Mary’s on a scheduled boat. Family swim (up to 2 adults and 3 children): £15.90 for Active Scilly Members and £22 for non-members. All ages welcome. Children who are over the age of 8 AND can swim 25m confidently may attend Family Swims without an adult. Gardening Club at the Community Garden, Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre (Children’s Services) Get your hands dirty with some fun, easy gardening while making a real difference for the planet! Come and grow cool plants, and help create a greener, cleaner space. Time: 11am – 1pm All ages welcome. Children under 8 years must be accompanied by an adult. Booking required – 15 spaces available. |

Drama workshop at the Methodist Church Hall (Drama Express) Join Drama Express, a multi award-winning West Country based charity, for a performing arts workshop, delivered by an experienced team of coaches who ensure drama is a positive, fun and inclusive experience. Time: 10am – 11.30am Open to children over the age of 8 and for all abilities. Booking advised - 12 spaces available. |

Sensory Friendly Family Swim at Normandy Pool (Active Scilly) This is a session with less noise and fewer people than at our general Family Swim sessions. Time: 11.15am – 12.15pm Cost: Child/Concession: £4.10 for Active Scilly Members and £5.60 for non-members. Adult: £5.70 for Active Scilly members and £8 for non-members. Family Swim (up to 2 adults and 3 children): £15.90 for Active Scilly Members and £22 for non-members. All ages welcome. Children who are over the age of 8 AND can swim 25m confidently may attend Family Swims without an adult. All other children must be accompanied by an adult in accordance with the specified pool ratios. Booking advised. |

Family rock climbing with Wez Swain at Carn Leh (Children’s Services) Meet at Carn Leh (southern end of Old Town Bay) at your allotted time and bring the whole family for an exciting outdoor climbing adventure – no experience needed, just a sense of fun and adventure. Time: hourly slots allocated between 10am and 4pm, each of which include 45 minutes of climbing. Cost: £10 per family, paid in advance. For children from 5 years. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking required – up to 8 spaces available per 1-hour session. When booking, please state which hour slot you would like to attend, how many people in your party, and their ages and we will do our best to accommodate you. |

Sensory friendly soft play (Children’s Services) This is a quieter soft play session for young people who prefer these environments with gentle background music, soft mats, padded shapes and parachute play. Time: 11am – 1pm School years 1-3. Children in Reception Class and younger must be accompanied by an adult. All parents are welcome to stay and join the fun! Booking required – 10 spaces available. |

Film showing at Old Town Inn (run by Helen Glenn) Time: 12pm – 2pm Cost: £5 per child and £5 per adult to be paid to Old Town Inn at the door on arrival. The cost of admission includes juice, popcorn and an ice cream during the film. Open to pre-school and Primary age children. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No need to book - just turn up! |

Outdoor multi sport session with Phil Arnold (Children’s Services) Meet on the Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) at the Five Islands Academy site for an outdoor multi sport session. Get ready for the summer with games including cricket and rounders. Time: 1pm-3pm Booking required – 20 spaces available. |

Pop-up Over-8’s Unaccompanied Swim at Normandy Pool (Active Scilly) Time: 3.45pm-4.45pm 8-16 year olds. All children must be able to confidently swim 25m to attend this session. Booking advised. |
