Mark Hewitt appointed as Chief Fire Officer of the Isles of Scilly Fire and Rescue Service

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Hewitt as Chief Fire Officer of the Isles of Scilly Fire and Rescue Service, as of 19 January 2023. This role replaces the Chief Executive position within the service previously held by Aisling Khan. Aisling will continue in her role as Strategic Director of People and Communities.

Mark also led on safeguarding within Cornwall’s service. He will continue to be based in Cornwall, but will be visiting the islands regularly and will work closely with Station Manager, Kevin James and the local team.

Chairman of the Council of the Isles of Scilly, Cllr Robert Francis, said: “as Chief Fire Officer, Mark will provide strategic leadership, strengthening our relationship with the wider network of emergency services across the region and nationally.
