[UPDATE 28/05/2025: Cllr Fran Grottick added to the list of appointments made to Communications Working Group]
The annual meeting of Council took place on 20 May 2025 and saw new appointments across committees and roles within the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Cllr Robert Francis was re-elected as Chairman of Council. Cllr Joel Williams was elected as Vice-Chairman.

Cllr Robert Francis, Chairman of Council, said: "Thank you to my fellow Councillors for re-electing me as Chairman of the Council of the Isles of Scilly for an eighth term. Despite having previously announced that I was ready to move on from this role, I found myself eager to stand as Chairman once again this year, as my determination to find solutions to the issues which remain pivotal to the success of our islands has only grown stronger with time. I look forward to continuing in this effort with those who have worked alongside me for several years, and I welcome the opportunity to work with our new Council Members - Cllrs Blackwell, Nixon, Sandford and White - for the first time. I am very much looking forward to working more closely with Cllr Williams in his new role as Vice-Chairman, the seat vacated by Cllr Grottick after 8 years of conscientious dedication. Cllr Grottick's support as Vice-Chairman has been invaluable to me personally and to the Council as a whole, and I'm certain that she will continue to serve the community admirably as Lead Member for Children."
