At today's Full Council, Members voted unanimously for Paul Masters to be confirmed in his Chief Executive post on a permanent basis, following an initial interim period.
Chairman of Council, Robert Francis said "Paul came to us at an unusual time in our Council's history, in the midst of a national crisis. Despite this, he has undertaken a full programme of improvement work across the authority whilst steering the Council's response to the pandemic with complete assurance. I couldn't be happier to be in a position to confirm this appointment on a permanent basis as this consistency of leadership is vital for strategic planning and the confidence of our staff and community. I wish to thank Paul for his continuing efforts and support."
Paul Masters commented “I was excited to accept this post when first appointed back in April and it has turned out to be one of the most rewarding opportunities of my professional career. The Council of the Isles of Scilly has a small but hugely talented workforce who have shown themselves to be extremely adaptable and hardworking. I am also lucky to be able to work alongside Councillors who are both constructive and supportive. I'm delighted to be able to continue working with you all to ensure the islands thrive."
