Road Resurfacing Update

St Mary’s Island Roads Project

Road resurfacing – Old Town Lane

Today works will be undertaken on Old Town Lane. This will be done in 2 portions – from Pilot’s Retreat to Hospital and then from Hospital Lane to the tie in near Old Town Church.

Pilot’s Retreat – Hospital Lane

Works will commence on this section at about 10:30 am and should be completed ready for switchover at 12:30 pm.

Whilst this section of the road is being resurfaced access to the hospital from Hugh Town will be via Telegraph Road, Parting Carn and Old Town.

Hospital Lane – Old Town Church

After completion of the section of Old Town Lane from Pilot’s Retreat to Hospital Lane the section from Hospital Lane to Old Town Church turning will commence. During this period until early evening this section of road will not be passable due to its narrow width and construction traffic.

Whilst this section is being resurfaced access to the hospital will be from Hugh Town.

Access to the airport

During this phase of works access to and from the airport / Hugh Town will be via Telegraph Road and Parting Carn Road. Access to and from Old Town will be via the same route.

Please take extra care when driving, cycling and walking when the roadway is in the prepared, planed state as ironwork will protrude above the existing surface. Not all raised covers will have individual warning signs.

Lagan Construction Ltd sincerely apologises for any disturbance this essential operation causes and thanks you in advance for your continuing co-operation and forbearance.

Please contact us on 07825 167569 if there are any problems during this work.
