These works are scheduled to commence at 11am on Tuesday 23rd September with one or two men doing preparation works. The area being resurfaced is the section between the Arch and the next gatepost towards the Star Castle Hotel (by the detention cell).
The sequence of works will be preparation, laying and then rolling.
This area will be prepared and then left in a prepared state until the main surfacing team finishes elsewhere. It is expected that the surfacing will start at around 3pm and will take about 1 ½ hours to complete. During the surfacing period please expect this section to be impassable for vehicles although pedestrians should be able to use it with extreme care.
Please take extra care when driving, cycling and walking when the roadway is in the prepared as the surfaces might be rough and there may be raised edges. Please take care in the vicinity of laid bond coat or asphalt – the material is hot and will burn if touched.
