Hosted by the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, the day-long event brings together business professionals to talk to local business owners and managers about the services and support available to help them grow, as well as budding entrepreneurs in the process of planning new ventures.
There will be introductory sessions, workshops and opportunities for private consultations from support providers including Outset Cornwall, Superfast Business Cornwall & Isles of Scilly and the Department for International Trade. The information sessions available will focus on start-up support, exploiting digital technology and selling to an international audience. Representatives from the Isles of Scilly Voucher Scheme will also be on hand to help businesses with enquiries about funding opportunities.
The event will feature just some of the wide variety of local and national support available, and the Growth Hub will be offering free business reviews to help identify the right support for individuals and businesses alike.
“Whether you have a business idea you would like to explore, or you want to grow your existing business, this is an invaluable opportunity to find out about the wealth of support available to all businesses and business professionals, and to put faces to the names of those support providers,” says Chris Phillips, Senior Business Connector, Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub. “Some providers have already met with selected businesses on the islands, but this event is designed to give everyone on Scilly the opportunity to get on board, and for us to demonstrate the depth and breadth of help and support that’s out there.”

The Scilly Business Growth Day takes place at the Lifelong Learning Centre, St. Mary’s on Wednesday 12 October 10am to 3pm.
The event is hosted by the Cornwall & Isles of Scilly Growth Hub, the Islands’ Tourism & Business Partnership and the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
