St Mary’s Airport Improvement Project and St Mary’s Island Roads

Site Entrance to Parting Carn

The coaster which is being used to convey aggregates for both these projects, the MV River Trader, arrived in St Mary’s on the evening of Friday 4th July.

We wish to advise you that we will offload the ship at night on commencing Monday 7th July at 6 pm (1800). Empty tractors and trailers and the wheeled excavator will proceed through the town from about 5pm (1700) onwards so that they can be ready at the start time. The quay is being made available to us until 9 am (0900) on Tuesday morning.

Two excavators will be used to off load the cargo so we hope that the exercise will be completed in 1 night but in the event that off-loading is not completed on Monday evening the exercise will be completed on Tuesday.

The route will be the same as on previous occasions and starts at the Quay, via Hugh Street, Church Street, the Old School, Telegraph Road, Parting Carn Farm and to the site.

The return journey will be the same with the empty trailers passing along the Strand rather than Church Street.

Lagan Construction Ltd sincerely apologises for any disturbance this essential operation causes and thanks you in advance for your continuing co-operation and forbearance.

Please contact us on 07825 167569 if there are any problems during this work.
