Stay active during 2015

If you’re looking for opportunities to improve your health and wellbeing this New Year there may be more activities than you were aware of taking place within the Council of the Isles of Scilly's sports facilities.

A new and simplified timetable has just been published for the Sports Hall, Fitness Centre and Normandy Swimming Pool. This was informed by a community consultation, which took place throughout November and December.

Adult swimming opportunities are now more frequent and consistently scheduled throughout the week. The Fitness Centre opening times have been aligned in response to user numbers over the last 12 months and the weekend opening times of the Sports Hall, Fitness Centre and Swimming Pool have been adjusted to help avoid clashes.

There are a wide range of activities for both children and adults taking place on a daily basis including sessions in the Sports Hall organised by community groups. For more information visit www.scilly.gov.uk/learning-leisure/active-scilly, call us on 01720 424373 or pop into the Wellbeing Centre at Carn Gwaval where our staff will be happy to help you.

We will continue to monitor user numbers and consult with the community as we look to develop and improve our services and help people to enjoy a happy and healthy 2015.
