Update on coronavirus cases and new government measures

There will be a televised announcement from the Prime Minister at 8pm tonight, following his statement to the House of Commons earlier today. Today’s Commons statement confirmed increased restrictions, including (but not limited to):

  • asking office workers who can work from home to do so
  • earlier closing time for hospitality venues from Thursday
  • Covid-secure guidelines will become legal obligations in retail, leisure, tourism and other sectors
  • a tightening up of the rule of six - with impacts for wedding ceremonies and receptions

The full speech can be read here.

As stated in our update earlier today, we have been informed by Public Health of positive test results.

We agreed that, in the interest of public health, it was important to let you know as soon as we could. There is nothing you need to do unless you have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace or are experiencing one of the three COVID-19 symptoms.

You’ll understand the need to absolutely protect the identity of any individuals who have been affected by this awful virus. All the appropriate agencies are supporting us to ensure risk is minimised. We will meet with public health again tomorrow and give a further update as soon as we can. In the meantime, please continue to follow the prevention advice such as keeping 2 metres distance, wearing a face covering and washing your hands frequently.
