In June 2015, the Council of the Isles of Scilly, as the Local Planning Authority, started a review of the Isles of Scilly Local Plan.
We wrote to all residents about the public consultation and published the ‘Local Plan Review: Scoping Report’ setting out our intention to progress a new local plan and public consultation. The consultation on this took place from 8 June to 24 July 2015.
We had an excellent response to the consultation. Around 117 people turned out to speak to us at our drop-in sessions and we received 84 written responses.
We are continuing to progress the replacement local plan and will publish a summary of all comments received on the website by the end of 2015 or early 2016. This will include the Local Planning Authority’s responses to the comments made and how these will shape the local plan. We will continue to engage with our residents as the Local Plan review continues.
A timetable for the Local Plan process was adopted by the Council at Planning Committee in February 2015. This provides an overview of the stages involved in the review and when these are likely to take place. A copy of the timetable is attached here.
We’d like to thank the community for excellent engagement in the review process so far and we look forward to talking to you again during the next stage of the process.
