We’re pleased to report that the Council’s Registration Service has been assessed as exceptional within the South West region by the General Register Office.
The Registration Service, responsible for registering births, deaths and marriages on the Isles of Scilly, has been assessed on its performance over the last year. It was found to excel in both timeliness of registrations and appointment availability. The service was also found to be flexible in working around its opening hours and in providing capacity across the islands.
Craig Dryden, the Council’s Proper Officer for Registration, said: “I am really proud of Lesley Thomas and her registration team for their outstanding achievement in being rated as exceptional within the South West region. I know the team are full of ideas for how they can improve the service over the coming 12 months and I look forward to helping them build on this excellent platform.”
