Quick guide to your postal voting pack

Your postal voting pack contains your ballot paper, your postal voting statement, Envelope A and Envelope B.

Step 1
Complete your postal voting statement with your date of birth and your signature.
Make sure you fill in your date of birth, not today’s date.
If you have been granted a signature waiver, the signature box will be filled with a statement saying you do not need to sign.

Step 2
Mark your ballot paper.
Vote for only one candidate by putting a cross in the box next to your choice.
Do not mark the ballot paper in any other way or your vote may not count.

Step 3
Put your ballot paper into Envelope A and seal it.

Step 4
Your ballot paper is now sealed inside Envelope A.
Put your completed postal voting statement and Envelope A into Envelope B.
Ensure the return address on the back of the postal voting statement is visible through the window of Envelope B.
Seal and post Envelope B in a Royal Mail post box. Postage is free so you don’t need a stamp.

HAND DELIVERING YOUR POSTAL VOTE

The easiest and most convenient way to return your postal vote is by posting it in a Royal Mail post box. Please allow sufficient time for your postal vote to reach us.

If you prefer, you can hand deliver your postal vote but only to:
•    a member of reception staff at St Mary’s Library or Carn Gwaval during office hours in the lead up to polling day or on polling day itself; or
•    a member of polling station staff at any Isles of Scilly polling station on polling day.

When hand delivering a postal vote, you must complete a postal vote return form. The member of reception staff or polling station staff will provide you with this form. If you leave a postal vote without completing the form, the postal vote will be rejected.

You can only hand deliver your own postal vote plus a maximum of five for other electors at this election. If you are a political campaigner, the other electors must be close relatives or people for whom you provide regular care.

HOWEVER YOU RETURN YOUR POSTAL VOTE, IT MUST BE RECEIVED BY US NO LATER THAN 10PM ON THURSDAY 2 MAY 2024.
