Social Housing Allocations Policy consultation and drop-in sessions

We are consulting on our amended Social Housing Allocations Policy and Housing Prioritisation Assessment for 12 weeks from Thursday, 28 November 2024.

The Social Housing Allocations Policy sets out the eligibility and qualification criteria for households to be placed on the Council’s housing register and the Housing Prioritisation Assessment enables us to identify priority cases. Both documents were approved for public consultation at the meeting of Full Council on 17 September 2024.

Everyone is invited to respond to this important consultation by following the instructions below.

Cllr Tim Dean, Lead Member for Housing and Corporate Estate said: “I encourage everyone to read the Social Housing Allocations Policy and Housing Prioritisation Assessment, and complete the survey to provide your thoughts on the proposed changes. This policy will affect most people living on Scilly in one way or another, so we are keen to make sure it reflects the needs and priorities of residents and serves the whole community well.”

How to view the amended documents and complete the survey

To view the draft Social Housing Allocations Policy and Housing Prioritisation Assessment and complete the survey, please visit the 'Social Housing Allocations Policy consultation' page of the Council website.

You have until the deadline at midnight on Thursday 20 February 2025 to complete the survey and make sure your views are captured.

Paper copies of the survey can also be collected from St Mary’s Library or Carn Gwaval Wellbeing Centre. Please make sure the completed surveys are returned to either reception point by the close of play on Thursday 20 February to ensure they can be taken into account.

This survey is intended to be anonymous, so please do not include any information which may identify you. Please email housing@scilly.gov.uk separately if you would like to provide additional feedback which would identify you.
