1. What election is taking place?
An election is taking place for the Police and Crime Commissioner for the Devon and Cornwall police force.

2. When is it taking place?
Thursday 2 May 2024 (polling hours: 7am-10pm)

3. Who is standing in this election?
The Statements of Persons Nominated will be published here on Monday 8 April 2024.

4. Where can I find out more about the candidates?
Further details about the candidates, including their campaign statements, will be published here from Wednesday 10 April 2024. 
Hard copies of this information (along with version in large print, braille or audio) will also be available from the website or by calling 0300 1311323. 

5. When will the results be announced?
The count will take place on Friday 3 May.
The Local Returning Officer (or one of his deputies) on St Mary’s will declare the result for the Isles of Scilly voting area.
The Police Area Returning Officer in Plymouth will declare the overall result for the Devon and Cornwall police area.
The declarations are expected around 3pm. 

6. Who is the Police Area Returning Officer?
The Police Area Returning Officer (PARO) is Tracey Lee, Chief Executive of Plymouth City Council. The PARO has an overall responsibility for co-ordinating and running the election across the whole of the police area. Further information is available on their website.

7. Who is the Local Returning Officer?
The Local Returning Officer (LRO) is Russell Ashman, Chief Executive of the Council of the Isles of Scilly. He is responsible for making election arrangements in the Isles of Scilly.
