Calling all commercial waste customers: complete our survey to help us design a new payment system and improve our database

We’re writing to all of the Council’s existing commercial waste service customers to ask them to complete a survey. This survey will assist in the design of a new payment system for commercial waste and recycling services provided by the Council.

If you run a business on St Mary’s and the Council collects your commercial waste directly, or if you run a business on the off islands and have your commercial waste managed by Council contractors, we need to hear from you. We'd also like to hear from you if you run a business that doesn’t currently use the Council’s commercial waste collection service, but may wish to in the future.

The survey is being carried out by Eunomia Research and Consulting on the Council’s behalf and follows our announcement of plans to make changes to waste and recycling containerisation and collection arrangements from March 2025. Further information about the waste and recycling changes can be found on our website.

By completing the survey you will provide information which will enable us to tailor our new payment system to the needs of our customers as much as possible. You will also provide the data which will enable the Council to improve its commercial waste customer database and make sure you are notified as forthcoming changes to waste and recycling services come into operation over the coming months.

How to respond to the survey

Existing and potential Council commercial waste customers can respond to the survey, by clicking on the button below. If you’re an existing commercial waste customer, you don’t have to wait for your letter to arrive to complete this survey.
