Consultation on the revised Local Validation Checklist

At a meeting of Full Council on 30 July 2025, Councillors approved a public consultation on the revised Local Validation Checklist for Planning Applications. The consultation will run for six weeks from today (Friday 22 August 2025) until 5pm on Friday 3 October 2025.

The Local Validation Checklist sets out the information that must be submitted to Council of the Isles of Scilly to enable it to validate a planning application and it should be reviewed every two years to remain valid. Before adopting the revised Checklist, we would like to ensure the community, and any interested parties, have the opportunity to comment on it.

In order to respond to this consultation, please take the following steps:

  1. Read the revised Local Validation Checklist.
  2. Complete the online response form or submit written comments in line with the instructions provided on our Local Validation Checklist consultation webpage.

All responses received by the 5pm deadline on Friday 3 October 2025 will be considered. Following a review of the responses, the Local Validation Checklist will then be taken back to Full Council for approval and adoption.

All responses will be anonymous, and any personal details volunteered in any of the free text boxes will be anonymised before publication.
