The Local Planning Authority has prepared a draft local plan to ensure that policies for the Isles of Scilly are relevant and up-to-date and in accordance with national requirements.
The draft Local Plan has been written to encompass feedback we received during a scoping consultation with the community in the summer of 2015.
The Local Plan is a vital document for the islands, forming the basis of future land use and development decision making. The Plan has important practical implications for residents and businesses as it guides decisions on planning applications.
Before the Draft Local Plan can be finalised and submitted for approval by the secretary of state, we need to know what the community (residents and businesses) think about the new policies.
Consultation on the draft local plan starts today, Friday 16 March, and lasts 7 weeks. All responses must be received no later than 5pm on Friday 11 May 2018.
