The deadline for submitting nomination papers to stand as a candidate in the Council election is 4pm on Wednesday 2 April 2025.
The election is for all 16 councillors on the Council of the Isles of Scilly: 12 for St Mary’s and one for each of the off-islands.
St Mary’s
Fewer than 12 valid nominations have so far been received for the St Mary’s parish.
If fewer than 12 valid nominations are received before the deadline:
- the candidates validly nominated will be elected without a contest; and
- it will be necessary to run another election in this parish to fill the remaining vacancy or vacancies (in accordance with section 39(1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983).
Bryher
No valid nominations have so far been received for the Bryher parish.
If no valid nominations are received for Bryher before the deadline, it will be necessary to re-run the election in this parish (in accordance with section 39(1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983).
Tresco
No valid nominations have so far been received for the Tresco parish.
If no valid nominations are received for Tresco before the deadline, it will be necessary to re-run the election in this parish (in accordance with section 39(1) of the Representation of the People Act 1983).

Nomination packs are available for collection from the Old Wesleyan Chapel or online on the Council’s local election webpage
