The climate in the UK and around the world is changing and the impacts of this are likely to be ‘severe, pervasive and irreversible’. Responding to this, the Council of the Isles of Scilly has commissioned RSK Group to deliver a Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan to empower our community to prepare for impacts on food and water resources, human health and security, and local ecosystems etc.
The Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan will be a community lead process. RSK Group will work with the community to identify climate change risks and develop a suite of adaptation measures to help protect the place we call home.
A number of stakeholder engagement events will take place this summer and autumn. We will post details and the dates of these soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions at all regarding the assessment (including observations relating to slow change or extreme events) please do let us know at ccaapscilly@rsk.co.uk.
Stakeholder events:
- May – Climate change risk to the islands
- July – Adaptation measures
- September – Presentation of the Plan
